Question about Proper Polarity

Do I have to pay attention to proper polarity ? What happens in event of reverse connection ?

You have to pay attention to proper polarity both with loudspeakers and magnetic signaling devices, 

when the components are operated with an asymmetrical square wave voltage. If the components are

reverse connected,this will result in a decrease in volume and over-loading up to destruction.
